Alicia CanternaAlicia Canterna is a native of Illinois. She began her training with the St. Louis Ballet under the direction of the late Ludmilla Dokoudovsky and Antonio Zalewski. She finished her classical ballet training and graduated in the top level from the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C. in 2000. There she studied under Nikolai Morozov and Ludmilla Morkovina. Ms. Canterna joined Company E of Washington, DC in 2011. Since joining, she has taken on many roles including dancer, rehearsal director, choreographer and teaching company class. With the company, Alicia has performed works by Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal/Gai Behar, Rachel Erdos, Thomas Noone and the great Paul Taylor along with many other world renowned artists. With Company E, Alicia travels as a dancer, choreographer, educator and cultural ambassador. Most recently, Alicia has travelled to countries such as Jordan, Israel and Cuba. Along with Alicia's professional performing career she teaches ballet and contemporary in the Greater Baltimore/DC area. She is Pilates certified and a certified FLX trainer. Prior to her work with Company E, Alicia danced with CityDance Ensemble, 2006-2009. With CDE she performed, taught and choreographed nationally and internationally. She credits her Modern dance training to her professors at Shenandoah University in Virginia. Ms. Canterna teaches as a Guest Master Teacher at University of Maryland, American University and The Bryn Mawr School. Alicia and her husband, Tony resides in Baltimore with their two beautiful children, Reese and Anthony.
